They won’t suspect a thing

We’ll talk on the phone beforehand and make a plan together: the spot, the timing and your signal. On the day, we look like any other tourist with a camera, so the surprise stays a surprise.

After the yes, the rest of your hour is all yours for happy tears, ring shots and fun photos of the two of you. We’ve photographed proposals on the sand, at a sea cove at sunrise and even on a mountaintop after a helicopter ride.

Abby made us feel SO comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera. My husband isn’t the biggest fan on taking photos but he was having such a good time! Abby and her husband are the sweetest!!! Highly recommend if you are in Oahu, she was so flexible with my busy schedule. Thank you Abby!!!

Best photographer! We were on vacation in Waikiki and at the last minute decided to get family pictures taken. I am so glad I went with Aloha Dreams. Abby was sweet and kind, made us feel so comfortable. She was very accommodating to our lack of planning and that alone deserves five stars. Pictures turned out amazing! I love every single one. Thank you so much!

We were a bit intimidated about being in front of the camera before our shoot but Abby was super down to earth and made us so comfortable being in front of the camera. She was also super good with communicating and was very efficient with the turnaround time. The photos far exceeded our expectations!! We had a great experience and would highly recommend Aloha Dreams Photography!!!

Good to know

Questions, answered

How much does a proposal photographer cost?

Proposal sessions start at $700 plus tax. That’s a full hour, at least 75 edited high-res images, print rights and help planning the surprise. A $200 deposit holds your date and goes towards your final payment.

How do you keep the proposal a surprise?

We plan it together by phone first, so we’re on the same page about the spot, the timing and your signal. On the day, we blend in like any other tourist with a camera. One proposer even asked us to snap a photo of the two of them, then dropped to one knee.

What are the best places to propose on Oahu?

Halona Blowhole is stunning at sunrise, Lanikai Beach has calm water and palm trees, and Magic Island has colorful sunsets minutes from Waikiki. Tell us what you’re picturing and we’ll find your spot.

Where should I propose in Destin or 30A?

For sunset on sugar-white sand, Henderson Beach in Destin is hard to beat. Grayton Beach on 30A is quieter, with natural dunes. Tell us your dates and we’ll help you pick.

What if the weather is bad?

We recommend booking near the start of your trip, just in case. We’ve shot for over a decade and only had a handful of rainouts, since showers usually pass in 5 to 10 minutes. If shooting really isn’t possible, we reschedule for free.

What should we wear?

For the beach, whites, teals, neutrals and blues look great. We’d skip busy prints and stripes, but it’s totally up to you.

What’s your cancellation policy?

You get a full deposit refund up to 24 hours before your shoot. Within 24 hours, we’re unfortunately unable to refund it.
